NewIslands - Out Of Time (Active Child Remix)

By the look of that picture, this band is either very ugly, or very shy. I'm going to go with the latter, but well....who knows, the crazy cats....read more.

I'm a smidgen confused, as the picture above clearly indicates 5 heads, however all the information I can find suggests this is a 2 man operation. David Jones, who used be in The Departure, and also in The Monkees* and Luke Shoesmith, who doesn't share a name with anyone of note, have teamed together to make something that's high on synths and strings, though shy of The Sound Of Arrows brilliance, it's a degree above Miike Snow, who I don't particularly care for anymore.

This is a song that the more you listen to it, and look past the fuzziness of it, is actually better than the sum of it's parts. If I were to break it down, I'd be pretty disappointed with each separate element, however, when it's all put together, it's rather good.

Expect an album in the New Year, but well....there's plenty to look forward to before that. Like Christmas. And Selection Boxes. I bought one today, I'm eating it right now. It's chocolat-irrific. Nom x3

*May not be same David Jones.
