Turns out he's formed a new side project type thing with a singer-songwriter called Lou Hickey,  called Codeine Velvet Club, and they've made an album, which will come out 3 days after Christmas.....I always thought that was a pretty odd time to release a record, and you can listen to streamed track at the link below. Anyway I quite like this version of a Stone Roses classic, that they've made available. It's a bit loungy, got a bit of a James Bond vibe to it, and certainly sounds nothing like The Fratellis.

It's always a bit dangerous doing a great bands best known song as a cover, I mean you'd have to be pretty brave to cover Smells Like Teen Spirit (stand up Jay-Z), most people go for a lost gem of a b-side, but they've managed to make this sound interesting, and varied enough from the orginal.

Yes, I quite like it.
